Geoff McDonald & Associates (a local law firm who has mentored MWGS students) is asking for your help in broadening awareness about the dangers of distracted driving such as texting or talking on your cell phone while driving. As you are aware, distracted driving is an enormous problem, causing thousands of deaths every year. It is also one of the leading causes of accidents among young drivers such as those at our school. As a father and local business owner, Geoff McDonald has seen the rising problem of distracted driving first hand, which is why his firm has created the Drive Alive Richmond campaign. The campaign asks students to take the survey (link provided below) to gather information about their driving habits and attitudes about distracted driving. This information can help to craft strategies that will, hopefully, end this safety problem.
Students are asked to take the survey and to be honest and open with your responses. The survey can be found at drivealiverichmond.com It will be available through March 31, 2015. ONLY STUDENTS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO DRIVE CAN TAKE THIS SURVEY.
Once their firm has completed the survey of high school students from throughout the Richmond area, they will analyze the results and make them available to the public, bringing greater awareness to the issue of distracted driving.
Geoff McDonald & Associates would like to sincerely thank all teens who take the time to complete the survey. As a token of their appreciation, they will be giving away an iPad Mini and the school with the most participants will receive a $500 donation to the PTSA.
Once you complete the survey, you can choose to enter into a random drawing for this prize.
Winners of the drawing will be announced on April 15, 2015.
