They have a high need right now for volunteer tutors who are willing to help middle and elementary school students with English language skills and simple math skills (i.e. counting to 100). The kids can communicate verbally in English, but a lot of them are really struggling with literacy, and their schools don't have the capacity to help them adequately. Contact Kate Houston, a MLWGS alumna (2004) at [email protected]. Kate will help MW students get involved with the organization. The need for tutors is critical. Date: Saturday, April 22nd -

Location: Crestwood Church will host a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event; this hunger relief organization is one of several (Stop Hunger Now is another example) that employs volunteers to pack units of nutritional food shipped globally to areas of need. Volunteers are used for the packing and Crestwood Church has committed to the $55K of food cost (though volunteers are welcome to contribute). 1200 volunteers are needed (in 2 hours shifts) to meet our packing goal of 250,000 meals. If you think it would add value, we would be grateful if you add this opportunity to your volunteer listing, as this is a fun way earn hours and feel good about the time spent.
